On Tuesday, August 13, the Rajasthan High Court allowed a petition filed by a woman to quash the rape case she had filed against her boyfriend last year. The single bench of Justice Arun Monga quashed the case and ordered immediate release of the accused. According to a report in Bar and Bench, a case was registered under several sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code against the accused, then 21, when the complainant was 17 years old, which is below the age of consent. The report stated that the case was registered after the woman was found to be pregnant.
