Nikhat Zareen Wins Bronze Medal in Women’s 50kg Boxing Event at Asian Games 2023 After Losing Semifinal to Thailand’s Raksat Chuthamat
The star Indian boxer suffered a defeat in the semifinal by a split verdict. She however won India's first medal in boxing in Asian Games 2023. It is also the first of many boxing medals to come for India in the Asiad this year.
Nikhat Zareen won the bronze medal in the women's 50kg boxing event after she suffered a defeat to Thailand's Raksat Chuthamat in the semifinal on October 1 in the match played at the Hangzhou Gymnasium. The Indian ace boxer went down 2-3 to her Thai opponent. She however won India's first boxing medal in this year's Asian Games. It was also India's 43rd medal overall.
