Odisha is all set to hosts the 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup which begins from November 28-December 16, 2018. The opening ceremony of the mega event is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Kalinga Stadium. The official account of the Hockey World Cup 2018, revealed the timings of the opening ceremony. “Worlds will come together as the top 16 countries gather to celebrate the magnum opus of hockey. On the eve of the opening of the mega-event, the CM of Odisha Naveen has declared a holiday. “CM @Naveen_Odisha declared a holiday on 27 November for all educational institutions in #Bhubaneswar for the inaugural event of #HockeyWorldCup2018. Government offices and educational institutes across the state will function till 1:30 PM on 27 November,” read a tweet from the CMO’s official handle.

“CM @Naveen_Odisha has also announced that all education institutes and government offices in Cuttack will function till 1.30 PM on 28 November. Oscar awardee music maestro AR Rahman will perform in #SilverCity as part of #HWC2018 celebrations,” read another tweet.

Talking about India, the hosts will play their first match on November 28 against South Africa at 7.00 PM. The mega-event will witness the participation of 16 teams and India is placed in Pool C along with Belgium, Canada and South Africa.
