The first game of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to happen tomorrow in Chennai, where Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The hosts are all set to donate the earnings from the first match to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack, which happened on February 14, 2019. The attack claimed the lives of 40 CRPF men and the responsibility of the attack was taken by the terrorist outfit called Jaish-E-Mohammed. The BCCI, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab and several other cricketing bodies chipped into donating to the families of the martyrs. Now, Chennai Super Kings have also joined the bandwagon. MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings will present the cheque to the families of the martyrs. CSK director Rakesh Singh said, “Our captain MS Dhoni, who is honorary lieutenant colonel of the Indian Territorial Army, will present the cheque.” The tickets of the first match were sold out within hours of the opening of the ticket window. Talking about the team, CSK had played a practice match a few days ago at the Chepauk stadium where 12,000 fans turned out to watch the players live in action.
