Virat Kohli-led India registered a convincing victory over South Africa in the third Test match in Ranchi. The hosts won the third and final match by an innings and 202 runs to complete series whitewash 3-0. With this Captain Kohli clinched the Freedom Trophy 2019, which is also one of the finest shows by Team India at home. With this India also remains on top of the ICC World Test Championship points table. The incredible winning run by Indian cricket team has given fans plenty of reasons to celebrate. India had taken an unassailable 2-0 lead after winning the first and second Test in Vizag and Pune by 203 runs and by an innings and 137 runs respectively. Despite the third match being a dead rubber, the hosts went for the kill against underwhelmed South African side. Kohli after winning the toss opted to bat first. The formalities were completed for India by debutant Shahbaz Nadeem in the first few minutes of the morning session on Day 4.
