South African pacer Anrich Nortje turns a year older on Saturday. Born on November 16, 1993, the speedster celebrates his 26th birthday. Nortje has a strong build and can set the speed gun on fire in every outing. The speedster has just started his international career but has grabbed a lot of limelight for his ability to bowl at a high pace and hurry the batsmen. Playing for Cape Town Blitz in his Mzansi Super League 2018-19, Nortje produced a scintillating spell and dismantled the Jozi Stars batting line-up. While defending ya target of 198 runs, the pacer showed no complacency whatsoever and took three wickets in the match. Courtesy his effort, the opposition were bundled out for 136 runs and lost the match by 62 runs.

2/35 Against Sri Lanka in Newlands

Another Nortje bowled a terrific spell in his debut against Sri Lanka earlier this year and burst into the scene. In the first encounter of the series, the pacemen bowled a tight line and length and never let the opposition to free their arms. He also chipped in with two crucial wickets as Sri Lanka were to mere 225 runs in the first innings. In reply, the hosts got off to a good start and clinched by match via the Duckworth Lewis method.

The fourth ODI of Sri Lanka's 2019 Tour of South Africa witnessed a stellar bowling performance by the speedster. On a decent track, Nortje bowled with hostility and troubled the visitors. He took three wickets in the match as the Lankans were bundled out for 189 runs. The Proteas batsmen didn't face much trouble while chasing the target and won the match by six wickets.

The emerging pacer is currently playing for Cape Town Blitz in the ongoing  Mzansi Super League 2019. He will be next seen in international action when South Africa will take on England in the four-match Test series at home.
