Also, the good news for the Indian fans is that Kedar Jadhav, who had suffered from a shoulder injury during IPL 2019, is also expected to be fit for the tournament. However, Dinesh Karthik’s selection over Rishabh Pant became a matter of debate. “He has the experience. If god forbid, something happens to MS (Dhoni), Karthik can be immensely valuable behind the wickets. As a finisher, he's done well. So, it was the overall exposure to a tournament of this magnitude that was taken into primary consideration,” said Virat Kohli in an interview with the Times of India. Ambati Rayudu was dropped from the squad and Vijay Shankar was named instead for the tournament.
