That's It! Comfortable victory for India in the end. They were ahead of the required run rate since the start but were losing wickets on regular interval. It is the introduction of Washington Sundar, which brought more stability in the innings and Sundar played a gem of a knock alongside a good support from Jitesh Sharma. The duo finished off things in style for India and levelled series 1-1.

Out! Australia strike after a big over from Sean Abbott almost threw them out of the game. Sean Abbott was absolutely smashed by Washington Sundar in the 14th over, but Xavier Bartlett kept Australia alive by dismissing Tilak Varma in the next over. It was a change of pace delivery, Tilak tried to ramp it but doesn't find enough timing to clear the wicketkeeper. India still ahead with Jitesh Sharma and Shivam Dube to come. Tilak Varma c Josh Inglis b Bartlett 29(26).

Out! One more time it is Nathan Ellis who strikes. It is another surprise bouncer from him and it gets big on Axar Patel who gets late on the pull. Rises sharply on him and could only manage a top edge which was caught brilliantly by Xavier Bartlett. India keeps scoring fast but is losing wickets as well. Axar c Bartlett b Nathan Ellis 17(12).

Despite losing Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, India have not slowed down and Tilak Varma has landed some good shots to keep India ahead of the required run rate. They have the batting depth and will only need to keep composure to close down the game. Australia will want wickets.

Out! Suryakumar Yadav departs. Massive wicket for Australia in the context of the game. It is Marcus Stoinis who strikes. Slower one on length, Suryakumar Yadav tried to punch it from the backfoot. The ball zipped off the surface and Suryakumar couldn't keep it down. The ball lobbed to the hands of the cover fielder. India got a solid start but lost two wickets quickly. Suryakumar Yadav c Nathan Ellis b Stoinis 24(11).

Out! Shubman Gill's poor run with the bat in T20Is continue. It is Nathan Ellis again who strikes and makes the opening for Australia. Slower one on the stumps, Gill tried to work it to the onside but the ball dips and hits the pads of Gill in front of the wicket. On field umpire gave it out and DRS couldn't save Gill. Crucial wicket for Gill. Gill lbw b Nathan Ellis 15(12).

Out! Massive wicket for Australia. Abhishek Sharma moves across to take on Nathan Ellis. Ellis digs it in short and Abhishek committed to the pull. Didn't get enough contact and the ball just took a top edge to end in the gloves of wicketkeeper Josh Inglis. Ellis and others celebrate knowing how big a wicket this is.  Abhishek Sharma c Josh Inglis b Nathan Ellis 25(16).

02 Nov, 15:53 (IST)

Abhishek Sharma has been the man in form for India and he has already provided India the start they wanted. Some solid shots ended being boundaries and India are off the blocks quickly. They will hope Abhishek stays for enough time to power India ahead in the game.

Australia finished their innings strongly, thanks to cameos from Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Short, who scored 64 and 26*, respectively, as the hosts managed 186 for 6. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of India's bowlers with three wickets, while for Australia, Tim David shone the brightest with the bat, hitting a brisk 74 off 38. The highest run-chase in Hobart is 177.

The major reason behind India's loss in IND vs AUS 2nd T20I 2025 was the lack of application by batters, and Josh Hazlewood's exceptional Test match bowling. Abhishek Sharma was the only silver lining for India in their loss at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

However, the batters will be relieved to see no Hazlewood in Australia's squad for the remainder of the tour, with the pace bowler opting to prepare for Ashes 2025-26 by playing domestic cricket. Coach Gautam Gambhir will be under the microscope once again, given India's poor selection and decisions in Melbourne, which left the bowling unit sub-par. IND vs AUS 3rd T20I 2025, Hobart Weather, Rain Forecast and Pitch Report: Here’s How Weather Will Behave for India vs Australia Cricket Match at Bellerive Oval.
