Virat Kohli becomes the quickest batsman to score 4000 runs in India:

The Indian cricket captain also went on to be the quickest batsman to score 4000 runs in India as he took only 72 innings to get to the mark. He went on to become the third batsman after Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni to achieve the record. Sachin Tendulkar took 92 innings whereas MS Dhoni took 100 innings respectively to reach the 4000 run mark.

Kohli becomes the first batsman to score three consecutive tons:

Here’s another record made by Virat Kohli. The Delhi based player started off the series by scoring a blistering knock of 140 runs in Guwahati and then a 100 in Vishakhapatnam and then 157 runs in Pune. Virat Kohli Equals Sourav Ganguly’s record:

The Indian cricket captain’s performance in the ODI series was undoubtedly quite commendable and thus bagged the Man of the Series award and thus equalled the record held by the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and left-hander Yuvraj Singh. Kohli scored 453 runs in five ODIs.

Rohit Sharma and Kohli became the fastest pair to score 4000 runs

Rohit’s partnership with the Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli garnered a lot of attention and thus have become the fastest pair to score 4000 runs in the ODIs. The duo broke the record of Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid who took 80 partnerships to achieve the feat. Whereas, Sharma and Kohli only took 66 partnerships.

This is the eighth time that the Indians have won against the Windies in a bilateral series since 2007.

Rohit Sharma the quickest batsman to get 200 Sixes in ODIs

Rohit Sharma also added a feather to his cap as he went on to be the fastest batsman to get 200 sixes in the ODIs. The Hitman who now has 202 sixes in his kitty is the second Indian to get 200 sixes in the 50-over format. MS Dhoni has 218 sixes under his belt.

Rohit Sharma Becomes The 2nd Highest Run-Getter In ODIs In 2018

Sharma with the knock of 63 runs unbeaten went on to become the second highest scorer of 2018 in the ODIs. Sharma so far has scored 1030 runs and thus surpassed Jonny Bairstow who has made 1025 runs. Virat Kohli continues to be the leading run scorer of 2018.

Talking about the series against Windies, India will now play three T20 matches against them. Virat Kohli has been rested for three games and Rohit Sharma will now lead the team. MS Dhoni too has been dropped from the T20 series.
