Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been included in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. After Pakistan’s dismal performance against England in the recently concluded One-Day International (ODI) series, the selectors decided to make some changes to the initial squad named for the World Cup. Pakistan Final Squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Asif Ali Included for CWC.

Pakistan left out Abid Ali, Faheem Ashraf, and Junaid Khan and included Amir along with Wahab Riaz and Asif Ali. Amir was first picked for England series only and his selection depended on his performance. He, however, was ruled out of the last four ODIs after suffering from chickenpox.

The left-arm pacer has now recovered from the diseases and is expected to join back the team couple of days before the World Cup warm-up matches. “Allhamdulilah, humbled and proud to be part of the Pakistan WC squad InshAllah going to give 100% and we all will try and make our nation proud, thank u all for ur support and endless duas we all need them more now,” wrote Amir.

Pakistan is scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh on May 24 and May 26 ahead of their opening match against West Indies on May 31 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
