New Zealand lost to England in the 5th T20I of the five-match series on Nov 10, 2019. The game was held at Eden Park in Auckland. This match reminded us of ICC CWC 2019 Final as yet again we saw a super-over. New Zealand fans seems to have got over that tragic moment, however their emotions got hurt one more time. Adding an insult to the injury, this match was also a series decider as England won the game to seal the series by 3-2. In the super-over this time, New Zealand needed 18 runs in the super-over to win the match which they lost by big margin as Kiwis managed to make only 8 runs. New Zealand Vs England, Highlights And Cricket Score 5th T20I Match.

It was Martin Guptill again in the picture and one more time he failed to take his team across the line. To the worst, we still wonder why he continued standing at the non-striker end and let Tim Seifert and Colin de Grandhomme do the job. Guptill did not face a single ball in the super-over which really must have made Kiwi fans furious.

The reason why the match reached this stage was due to England's Chris Jordan brilliant batting in the last over. England needed 16 runs from the last over, James Neesham bowled that over and failed to defend the required runs. When 13 runs were required of the last three deliveries, Jordan smashed a six followed by a couple and then finally hit a boundary down the fine leg on a low full toss, which lead to a tie.

Due to rain the match was reduced to 11 overs, where the visitor won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand posted a target of 147 runs as they made 146/5 in 11 overs. Martin Guptill made 50 runs from 20 balls, while from England it was Jonny Bairstow who scored 47 runs from 18 balls. Bairstow and captain Eoin Morgan smashed New Zealand skipper Tim Southee all around the park in the super-over to give a target of 18 runs. Chris Jordan not only did it from the bat, but also from the ball as he bowled the super-over to give England a comfortable win in the deciding over. Jonny Bairstow has been awarded Man of the Match, while Mitchell Santner of New Zealand bagged Player of the Series title.
