RR Win By 6 Runs | RR vs CSK Highlights of IPL 2025: Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni's Efforts in Vain As Rajasthan Royals Secure First Victory of Season

That's It! What a thriller! Till the first ball of the last over, the match was tilted towards CSK with MS Dhoni out there. But he got dismissed and then it became too big for the batters on crease. Jamie Overton hit one straight over the bowler's head but it was not enough in the end. Riyan Parag will be happy as he led the team to their first victory of the season. 

Out! Anticlimactic end for MS Dhoni. He was looking set for one or two more hits but miscues the slower yorker from Sandeep Sharma straight to the hands of deep mid-wicket. Shimron Hetmyer takes a very good catch in the deep. RR stay ahead. Dhoni c Hetmyer b Sandeep Sharma 16(11).

Chennai Super Kings need 39 runs off the last 12 balls and both MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja has played out the spin overs and are waiting for the last overs of seam bowling. They have set the chase up and it is time for one final push. 

Out! Massive wicket for Rajasthan Royals as it is Ruturaj Gaikwad who departs. He was striking the ball clean and his wicket will hurt CSK. Wanindu Hasaranga floated one up again, but it was the slow leg-break and not the googly Gaikwad anticipated. The connection is off and Yashasvi Jaiswal settles to take a comfortable catch. Fifty! Ruturaj Gaikwad remains the lone fighter on the crease. He came in when CSK were struggling to get going in the powerplay and he has held the innings together despite wickets tumbling at the other end. He completed his half-century in just 37 deliveries. 

Out! Wanindu Hasaranga is on a roll here. First floats one up with the conventional leg spin and allows Vijay Shankar to hit a big six. The next ball is the googly without the change of grip and foxes Shankar to clean him up. RR has their tail up here.  Shankar b Hasaranga 9(6).

Out! What a catch from Riyan Parag. Shivam Dube was attacking Wanindu Hasaranga and he still shows the courage to go full and Dube drives him full blooded to the covers. Out! Wanindu Hasaranga strikes in his first over. Rahul Tripathi had to attack and the seventh over going cheap also increased the pressure. Hasaranga was short and on the pads, Tripathi went for the pull but just didn't get the gap and got holed out in the deep. CSK under more pressure now. Tripathi c Hetmyer b Hasaranga 23(19) .

The last two overs of the powerplay has been good for CSK. First Rahul Tripathi finally got off some runs from Jofra Archer and then Ruturaj Gaikwad crunched two good shots off Sandeep Sharma to end the powerplay on a high for CSK. Gaikwad has to take the game deep while Tripathi will look to attack. 

Finally Rahul Tripathi's desperate attempts to get a boundary helps with two boundary in the last two balls of the fourth over. Jofra Archer has been bowling some rockets and either of Tripathi or Ruturaj Gaikwad have struggled to put bat on ball. He took the chance against Tushar Deshpande and it paid off for a little. CSK have a tough task in hand. 

Out! Rachin Ravindra falls without adding anything to the scoreboard. Skillful new ball bowling from Jofra Archer and he gets a nick on Ravindra's bat on it's way to the hands of the wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. Big wicket for RR. Not the best of finishes from Rajasthan Royals. They started to lose momentum after Nitish Rana was dismissed and then they just didn't find another scoring outlet. Dhruv Jurel and Wanindu Hasaranga didn't get going and Shimron Hetmyer didn't get the finish he would have wanted with wickets tumbling. Ravichandran Ashwin was expensive but some good death bowling from Matheesha Pathirana and Khaleel Ahmed kept the target modest for CSK. They still have a tough job in hand. 

Out! Riyan Parag gets hit on his elbow and the next ball he faces, he departs. He was visibly agitated with the pain and it seemed like a rush of blood. Pathirana although was on point with his yorkers and gets one to dip perfectly to crash to Parag's stumps. RR need a big finish here and CSK will be happy. Riyan Parag b Pathirana 37(28).

Chennai Super Kings have pulled things back after taking regular wickets in the middle overs. Ravichandran Ashwin first removed dangerous Nitish Rana, followed by Noor Ahmad dismissing Dhruv Jurel. Vijay Shankar's superb catch helped Chennai to remove Wanindu Hasaranga. These three wickets have stopped the run flow of Rajasthan Royals.

A brilliant phase for Chennai Super Kings, as they are pulling this back. Talking about the catch, Vijay dived forward and plucked it after Hasaranga slammed it straight to the mid-wicket region. Out! Noor Ahmad gets the second wicket of the match. The leg-spinner removed wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel for just three runs. Two quick wickets for the Chennai Super Kings, and they are pulling things back. Excellent catch from Matheesha Pathirana, who put in a full-length forward dive. Out! Finally Nitish Rana departs. He was dominating Ravichandran Ashwin and hitting boundaries. Stepped out too early this time but Ashwin watched his feet and paused to keep it wide. Out! Sanju Samson tries to join in the act but falls. Noor Ahmad tosses it on the up, Sanju goes down the ground but the wrong one turns and Sanju gets the outside part of the bat which makes the ball go flat in the hands of the long-off. That's some sensational batting from Nitish Rana. Since coming in at number three, he has belted the Chennai Super Kings bowlers and now brings up his half-century in just 21 balls. He also finished the powerplay on a high but hitting a six to Khaleel Ahmed. 

After the early Yashasvi Jaiswal wicket, Nitish Rana has come in at three and he has launched an counter-attack alongside Sanju Samson. They have settled the nerves and took the attack back to CSK who were looking to get through the middle order.
