Victorious New Zealand captain for tonight, Tom Latham, says that the batting unit managed to get in partnerships and it was not a one-man show, which pleased him a lot. Is really happy to see Southee swinging the ball like he did. On New Zealand's improvement, Tom says that the challenge is to improve in all facets of the game. Agrees and admits that after taking a wicket, the bigger challenge is to keep taking more scalps at regular intervals.

Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza, admits that the boys are disappointed but looks at some of the positives, mentioning Sabbir's century at the forefront. Adds that in this game, they picked up wickets regularly till the 35th over, which was the second positive. But then laments the inability to fight back after Jimmy Neesham's onslaught.

MARTIN GUPTILL HAS BEEN AWARDED THE PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his 264 runs, at an average of 132. Says that it was a nice comeback after the injury break, putting up a nice couple of performances leading to a series win. Is looking forward to play the red-ball format now and sharpen his skills. On his World Cup chances, Guppy says that one has got to be positive and believe in oneself.

TIM SOUTHEE HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Says that it is nice to get out in the middle and contribute to a team win and a series win. Adds that he got plenty of time to rectify some of the errors identified from the India series. Admits that there is healthy competition amongst the seamers within the unit and that is helping the team overall,. Praises the batters for setting up the win which gave the bowlers some cushion to come out and take some wickets upfront. Ends by saying that every time he gets an opportunity to play for New Zealand, it is special.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand posted 330 runs on the board courtesy - fifties from Henry Nicholls, Ross Taylor and Tom Latham. Martin Guptill missed out on a rare Kiwi record of scoring three consecutive centuries. But the total proved to be more than enough with the middle order stepping up. It was another poor outing with both the bat and ball from Bangladesh. Stay tuned for the presentation.

The Kiwi bowlers started right on the money and Tim Southee started throwing venom from the very first ball. He rattled the Bangladeshi top order and he was the pick of the bowler picking up 6/65.

A very comprehensive victory for New Zealand in the end. Sabbir Rahman's lone battle went in vain. The chase started in a very disastrous manner for the visitors. They lost three wickets in three overs and were on the back foot from there and kept losing wickets. At one stage it looked like Bangladesh will struggle to go past the 100-run mark when they were 61-5. But Sabbir Rahman had decided to make the most of the life he got when he was dropped on 0. He put a 101-run stand with Mohammad Saifuddin and made sure Bangladesh bow out with some respect. His maiden century along with Saifuddin's 44 and Mehidy Hasan's 37 took Bangladesh's total to 242.
