West Indies vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - ODI Summary

End of Over : 48.4 ENG: 364/4

Done and dusted with this high-scoring encounter. It turned out to be a one-sided affair as England's batting quality proved to be too hot to handle for the home team. The second ODI once again will be here in Barbados. Do join us on 22nd February at 1100 local (1500 GMT) for all the action. Cheers!

England's skipper, Eoin Morgan says he is very pleased with the calmness they showed during the chase. On the surface, he reckons it was brilliant. Credits the way Jason Roy and Joe Root played. Feels the two complement each other and if they get away, the oppositions are in for a rough time. Mentions Adil Rashid played a huge part in pegging the Windies back. Admits they did not have a great day in the field and he hopes they can improve. Ends by saying all the three departments are strong but they need to keep improving.

Man of the Match, Jason Roy says that the surface was good. Mentions the total was a daunting one but they got off to a good start and they just capitalized. Further adds that he wanted to step up with the bat especially after dropping Gayle on 9 and he feels he did so. Reckons that he rotated the strike well with Root and did not let the pressure build. Ends by saying they have to continue working hard and be hungry for more success.

Windies' skipper, Jason Holder credits his batters for the way they batted. He feels they did not bowl that well in this game. Appreciates the way Chris Gayle played and says it is really good to see the way he played. Mentions the energy and the body language was not up to the mark today. Ends by saying they need to be more clinical moving ahead.

The bowling from Windies was below standard. To add to that, their fielding was also not up to the mark. That never allowed the home team to build any momentum and in spite of posting a big total, they got beaten quite comprehensively. Earlier in the afternoon, the Gayle-storm struck Barbados as it was total carnage. The Jamaican giant hammered a superlative hundred and steered Windies to 360, however, lack of disciplined bowling and fielding, cost them the match.

A commanding performance by England. They were after a big target but overhauled it with a minimum of fuss. Their openers laid a strong platform by providing a blazing start. Jason Roy showed scintillating form and scored a fluent century. Not even once in the run chase England looked under pressure. Joe Root anchored quite efficiently with a ton and he along with Eoin Morgan powered the touring team on the brink of victory which later on was achieved with 8 balls to spare. This is also their highest successful run chase in ODIs and the third highest overall.
