Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli on the personal front had yet another productive outing. The talented right-handed batsman scored 107 against West Indies in the third One-Day International (ODI) at Pune. This was Kohli’s third back to back century in ODIs as he became the first Indian batsman to do so. Despite Kohli’s 38th ODI ton, India lost the match by 43 runs. After the match, Kohli took to social networking sites. No, he didn’t post about the match. Instead, the captain went ahead with a romantic post dedicated to his wife Anushka Sharma on the occasion of Karwa Chauth, which was celebrated today (October 27).

Kohli posted an image of himself with wife Anushka on Instagram and Twitter with a similar caption which read, “My life. My universe”. The couple was standing on a rooftop with a moon in the background. Though it is not clear whether the picture was taken after the match or earlier. Coming back to the match, India were set a target of 284 to win by Windies after Shai Hope and Ashley Nurse made valuable contribution with the bat for their side. India looked well in contention for the win till Kohli was batting in the middle. Once the Indian skipper was dismissed in the 42nd over after scoring 107 off 119 balls, the visitors took full control of the game and eventually emerged victorious.

Following the defeat, Kohli during the presentation ceremony said that the target was gettable. He blamed batsmen for not being able to form partnerships. Kohli also rued the fact that the team missed all-rounders like Hardik Pandya or Kedar Jadhav who bring balance to the side.
