Virat Kohli registered his fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) century during Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match at the Eden Gardens. Kohli started off slowly against Knight Riders and notched his half-century off 40 balls. He then upped the ante and completed his century off just 57 balls in the last over. Kohli’s second fifty just took 17 balls. The RCB skipper was then dismissed on the last ball of RCB’s innings but not before taking his side to a mammoth total of 213 runs. Kohli’s 58-ball stay in the middle fetched him nine fours and four sixes. The RCB skipper shared a valuable partnership with Moeen Ali for the third wickets and added 90 runs. Moeen Ali made a significant contribution as well and scored 66 off just 28 balls.
Meanwhile, Kohli’s ton was fifth of this season with Warner, KL Rahul, Jonny Bairstow and Sanju Samson having registered the three-figure mark before the RCB captain. Kohli now occupies third place on the most runs this season with 378 runs from nine matches. Apart from this century, Kohli has two half-centuries against his name as well this season.
