French President Emmanuel Macron was seen cheering for his home team in the stands of the Luzhniki Stadium. The President was obviously elated with France walking away with the 2018 FIFA World Cup by beating Croatia by 4-2. He even performed a dab with Paul Pogba and Benjamin Mendy. However, he did not forget to congratulate Croatia for their stint at the World Cup. After the match, Macron went to the Croatian dressing room and exchanged pleasantries with them.

Macron even met Luka Modric’s kids and was seen having an animated conversation with the players. The pictures were shared by the official handle of the Croatian team with the caption, “Great gesture from French president Emmanuel Macron as he comes to congratulate #CRO players following the #WorldCupFinal! #BeProud #WorldCup #Vatreni🔥.”

After winning the match, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic congratulated the team after winning the match. The two shook hands and shared an affectionate hug in the stands.

Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba scored goals for France.  19-year-old Mbappe scored four goals in the tournament and was named as the FIFA Young Player Award. After winning the match, Antoine Griezmann said, “I don't realise yet what it is. I'm very proud of this team: the players and the staff, the technical staff and medical staff. We were really a united group," said France forward. "We did something incredible, we made history and we are going to enjoy it. We're going to see our families and we're going to party. Tomorrow in France will be the same, we're going to party with the French people," he further added.
