London, March 3: Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris blocked a last-gasp penalty kick to maintain a 1-1 home draw in the north London derby against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday, collecting Spurs first point in three consecutive matches in the top English football league.

Gabon and Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang failed to deliver from the 12-yard mark in the first minute of the second-half stoppage time, thanks to Frenchman Lloris' save, reports EFe news.

"We came out fighting in the second half and got ourselves into the game," England striker and Spurs star Kane said after the match. "We put the pressure. Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring for Arsenal after 16 minutes into the play, while Kane drew level mid-way through the second half when he capitalised on a penalty try, the thing Aubameyang failed to do before the final whistle.

With the draw, Tottenham remained in third spot of the standings with 61 points, maintaining its four-point advantage over fourth-placed Arsenal, which might fall further should Manchester United defeat visiting Southampton later in the day.

Spurs have been handed two consecutive PL defeats to Burnley (2-1) and Chelsea (2-0), respectively, while Arsenal's winning streak in the domestic competition stopped at three matches.

Visiting Arsenal was the first to threaten its rival when its French forward Alexandre Lacazette's left-footed shot missed Tottenham's net, just two minutes into the play.

Lacazette then played a smart pass to set Ramsey up for a one on one situation against Lloris, and the Welshman did open the scoring with a left-footed finish from the center box.

Tottenham reacted, seeking out the equaliser but all its efforts were denied, and the visitors secured their 1-0 lead at the half-time.

After the intermission, Spurs continued their efforts until the referee whistled a controversial penalty for the hosts, as Arsenal's defender Shkodran Mustafi of Germany fouled Kane inside the area, and the international Englishman did not miss, drawing his side's level.

Both teams sought out to increase their tallies with no success, and the 1-1 deadlock reigned until the final whistle, despite the thrill-filled closing minutes.

Tottenham Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez fouled Aubameyang inside the box in 89th minute, and the referee whistled another penalty kick that was nicely saved in the bottom-left corner by goalie Lloris.

After a couple of minutes, Uruguay and Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torriera was shown a straight red card for a bad foul against Tottenham's defender Danny Rose of England.
