India will face Afghanistan in match four of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The Blue Tigers are without a win this campaign and will be hoping for three points to revive their derailed campaign against a resolute Afghanistan team. India have failed to win a game so far – drawing two and losing one – and as a result, find themselves in the fourth position in a five-team group. This match is a do-or-die situation for the Indians as anything other than a victory may end their chances of qualifying for the next round. Afghanistan, on the other hand, have just one victory so far. Both teams have good quality in their side and here are some players to watch out for this match.  IND vs AFG, 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Winless India Look to Revive Qualification Hopes Against Afghanistan.

India started their Qatar 2022 campaign on a disappointing note as they lost to Oman at home but came back stronger against Qatar, managing a goalless draw away to 2019 AFC Asian Champions. The blue tigers were then held to a 1-1 draw at home by minnows Bangladesh. Afghanistan, similarly had an underwhelming start as they were thrashed by Qatar 6-0 but managed to get an important win against Bangladesh at home. As both teams will be looking for a win we take a look at some players who can make a big impact on this match. IND vs AFG, 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Preview: Blue Tigers Eye Win Over Afghanistan.

Sunil Chhetri

The Indian Captain is the second-highest goal scorer on the international stage among the active players. This puts him ahead of footballing superstars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Robert Lewandowski. Chhetri missed India's last away game against Qatar and will be eager to push his side towards a victory and keep their qualifications hope alive.

Farukh Choudhary

Farukh has been in terrific form in the domestic league as has been one of the most important players for Jamshedpur. Now the youngster will be eager to replicate his domestic form on the international stage but it will be difficult against a resolute Afghan defense.

Haroon Amiri

Haroon Amiri will be a known face for the Indians as the player has played in India for a long time. Amiri has played for Mumbai FC and Dempo in I-League as well as for FC Goa in ISL. Amiri is also the most capped Afghanistan player with 48 appearances and will have the responsibility to keep Sunil Chhetri quiet for the entire match.

Farshad Noor

The Afghanistan skipper is the most high-profile player in their team. He graduated from the Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven’s youth system and was promoted to the first team in 2013. Noor left the club after a two-year spell. The 25-year old midfielder has scored Afghanistan’s only goal in the qualifying campaign.

Both teams are in search of a win to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive. The teams have started poorly in their group and will be hopeful that they can get something out of the game to get their campaign back on track. India currently sit in the fourth spot in Group E while Afghanistan are in third.
