New Delhi, October 21: DJI reportedly sued the US Department of Defence (DoD) over being labelled as a "Chinese Military Company". The drone giant from China, known for its wide range of consumer and commercial drones, is challenging the US government’s decision. DJI claims that this classification by the US Department of Defence is unfair and has filed a lawsuit to get its name removed from the list.
According to a report of Reuters, the Chinese Drone maker DJI has taken legal action against the US Department of Defence. They filed the lawsuit because the department added DJI to a list of companies that are said to be collaborating with the Chinese military. DJI claims that this label is incorrect and has led to financial damage to the company. DJI argues that being associated with the military in this way is unfair but has also harmed their business significantly. DJI has asked a US District Court in Washington to take its name off the Pentagon's list. The company stated that it is neither owned nor controlled by the Chinese military, as per a report of Money Control. DJI is trying to prove that they operate independently and are not linked to the military in any way. By making this request to the court, they hope to protect their business interests and restore trust among their customers and partners. DJI has reportedly faced both financial losses and damage to its reputation since being added to the Pentagon's list. This situation has led to lost business opportunities, and employees at DJI have experienced stigma and harassment as a result of the negative attention. The U.S. Department of Defense placed DJI on this list earlier in January of this year. In their defence, the company has stated that neither the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) nor the Central Military Commission has any ownership in DJI.
