Bangladesh’s off-spinner Afif Hossain took a stunning catch off his own bowling and dismissed debutant Shivam Dube in the 1st India vs Bangladesh T20I match. Talking about the delivery, Hossain bowled a drifting delivery angling into the southpaw – to which Dubey tried to tuck it on the leg side but only managed to get a top edge and the bowler took a fantastic one-handed catch while jumping. The 20-year-old is enjoying a great day on the field as the youngster bowled a tight line and length throughout the match and never let the batsmen free their arms. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision looked spot as the visitors got wickets at regular intervals. The Indian batting line-up looked completely fragile in absence of Virat Kohli and could manage only 148 in the first innings. Shikhar Dhawan was the host’s top scorer with 38 runs while Rishabh Pant made 27.
The Bangla Tigers have to chase 149 runs to win the match and take a 1-0 lead in the series. In the absence of veterans like Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, the chase will not be an easy one and the other players will need to put their hands up.
