Despite India’s gigantic total, South Africa will be a little pleased as they dismissed the trio of Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara on low scores. The visitors will look to claim more wickets and shift the momentum on their side. However, the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal piled up 317 runs for the first wicket and the Proteas’ shoulders were down. Earlier in the day, South Africa draw the first blood after dismissing Rohit Sharma for 176. His ousters didn’t affect his batting partner who crossed the 200-run mark before getting dismissed for 215.

India will aim to cross the 500 run mark in the third session before calling an innings declaration. On the other hand, Kagiso Rabada and Co will look to rattle the Indian tale and dismiss them as early as possible. However, opening the batting the latter part of the day is not ideal and the South African opening pair of Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram will vary off it.
