Mayank Agarwal Joins the Elite List of Players Like Sourav Ganguly, Suresh Raina & Others After Scoring a Half-Century During IND vs SA, 1st Test 2019, Day 1

After Rohit Sharma’s 11th half-century in his Test career during India vs South Africa, day one of the first Test, we have yet another player who has been blazing guns. Mayank Agarwal brought up his half-century at the VDCA Stadium, Vishakhapatnam joined the elite list of players like Sourav Ganguly, Suresh Raina, Arun Lal and a few others for scoring a half-century in maiden innings both home and away. The Indian opener brought up his half-century in style as with huge six when Keshav Maharaj was handling the bowling duties for South Africa. As his fellow opener nears the score of 100, Agarwal is batting patiently on the score of 55. Talking about the first session of day 1, the Indians made 91 runs with no loss of wickets. It was Rohit Sharma who brought up his 11th half-century from 84 balls. The netizens hailed Sharma for his patient innings and back then, Agarwal batted on the score of 39 runs. It was a perfect start of the hosts as after winning the toss, Virat Kohli elected to bat first. Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander who bowled both ways with the new ball troubled the openers.
