Paras Khadka smashed Nepal’s first T20I century to lead his side to a victory against Singapore in the Singapore Tri-Nation series. Khadka, who is also Nepal’s first ODI centurion, scored an unbeaten 106 runs from just 52 deliveries as Nepal chased down a stiff target of 152 in just 16 overs. The 31-year-old etched his name into history books by becoming the first international captain to slam a hundred in T20I cricket, while chasing. Khadka’s innings of 106 runs comprised of seven boundaries and nine hits over the fence. The Nepal skipper also shared a 145-run partnership with Aarif Sheikh, which itself is a record stand for the second wicket in the shortest format of the game. The 145 runs stand between Khadka and Aarif is the fifth-highest partnership for the second wicket in T20I cricket.

Sheikh, who remained not out on 39 runs, was the second-highest run-scorer from Nepal as the visitors chased down the big target with 9 wickets and 24 deliveries in hand. The victory helped Nepal begin the Singapore Tri-Nation series with a victory.

Earlier, hosts Singapore made 151/3 in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Captain Tim David led from the front and orchestrated Singapore’s innings with a well-made half-century. David made 64 runs from 44 deliveries, which included 3 boundaries and 4 maximums to the fence.
Surendran Chandramohan was the next best scorer for Singapore with 35 runs. Meanwhile, Karan KC was the chief wicket-taker for Nepal. Karan took two of the three wickets that fell, while star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane finished wicket-less. He was, however, Nepal’s most economical bowler giving away just 18 runs from 4 overs. In reply, Nepal were off to a poor start and lost opener Ishan Pandey in the second over with just 9 runs on board. But Khadka, in the company of Aarif, held the ship and took Nepal home.
