WV Raman Shares Photo With Narendra Hirwani; West Indies Cricket Legends Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose, India Women Coach’s Funny Caption Makes Netizens Laugh

Former Indian cricketer and current head coach of India Women team WV Raman shared a photo on Twitter with West Indies’ legendary cricketers Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose. Raman, who was appointed as India Women’s coach in December 2018, also shared a funny caption with the photo which caught the attention of cricket fraternity and netizens. Former Indian cricketer and spin bowler Narendra Hirwani was also seen in the photo.

“It took me all these years to realise that it's sensible to have the two tall, genial and fun-loving gentlemen by my side rather than face them across 22 yards.. Such is the stupidity of youth”, WV Raman wrote along with the photo, which he shared on early morning on Tuesday. WV Raman and Narendra Hirwani made their Test debut for India together in a Test match against West Indies in Chennai in January 1988. Both the former Indian cricketers came to limelight in their debut Test match with a brilliant show. Raman hit an 83-run knock in the 2nd innings to help set up a huge target of 416 for West Indies. Courtney Walsh was also part of the match and he dismissed Raman in the 2nd innings. Raman also dismissed Walsh in the 2nd innings, in his very first over of Test cricket. India won that match by 255 runs. Raman and Hirwani are largely remembered for their heroic performances in their debut Test match.
