A shocking arrest has rocked the Oviedo community after a Florida teacher was taken into custody for the alleged grooming and s*xual abuse of a 13-year-old girl. Daniel Philip Le Lievre, 41, faces multiple felony charges following allegations that he used his position of trust to target the daughter of a woman he was dating.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, the disturbing behaviour began in October 2023. While Le Lievre was romantically involved with the victim's mother, authorities allege his true intentions were far more predatory. Upon their breakup in January 2024, Le Lievre reportedly admitted to the mother that he only entered the relationship to "get closer" to her child.

The investigation revealed a highly calculated grooming process designed to bypass parental supervision. Police also claim he maintained a secret drawer in his classroom desk filled with blankets and perfume for the child, while simultaneously creating a private bank account and a secret phone line for the 13-year-old to further isolate her from her family.

The allegations culminated in a harrowing report of s*xual abuse occurring in the middle of the night at Le Lievre's residence. While Le Lievre was a teacher to the victim during the alleged grooming period, he is currently being held as the legal process moves forward. Court records do not yet indicate a formal plea, and his public defender has been reached for comment regarding the case.
