CryptoHurricane Ida has left one million people in Louisiana without electricity. The residents may remain without power for weeks as officials take stock of the damage, reported BBC. Ida made landfall on August 29 with 150mph winds. Around 5,000 National Guard members have been deployed for relief & rescue operations. More than 25,000 workers have mobilised to support power restoration in the state, as per CNN. At least one person died after a tree fell on their home in Louisiana's Baton Rouge area, reported BBC. The number might go up as rescue and search operations continue. Hurricane Ida has weakened to a tropical storm. However, the National Hurricane Centre warned that heavy downpour could still bring flooding to parts of Mississippi, Alabama & Florida.
