Tamil movie Koozhangal is India's official entry for Oscars 2022. The movie will be eligible for the award if it finds a place on the 94th Academy Awards nomination list. Koozhangal has been directed by PS Vinothraj. The film has been produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. Yuvan Shankar Raja gave music for the film. Vignesh Shivan took to Twitter to share the news. Koozhangal was picked from a list of 14 films. The list also included Sardar Udham, starring Vicky Kaushal and Vidya Balan’s Sherni, among others. Koozhangal has won several awards at film festivals. Oscars 2022 will be held in-person at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre on March 27. Previously, India’s Oscar entries included Jallikattu, Gully boy, Village Rockstars, Newton. None of these films got shortlisted. The only Indian movies to have been nominated for the Academy Awards so far have been Mother India, Salaam Bombay and Lagaan. Watch the video to know more.
