UK, France Record Highest Ever Covid-19 Cases In A Day Due To Omicron Variant, Paris Imposes Travel Restrictions On British Tourists

On December 16, the United Kingdom recorded its highest daily Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. 88,376 confirmed cases were reported on December 16 in the UK. On December 15, 78,610 Covid-19 cases were reported. More than 11 million people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the UK. Meanwhile, France has decided to ban non-essential travel to and from Britain from the weekend.
