Will the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conduct board exams twice a year for class 10 students? Yes, the CBSE has approved the norms for conducting board exams twice a year for class 10 from 2026. The first set of exams will be mandatory, while the second phase will be optional. The first phase will be conducted in February and second in May. The results for the two phases will be announced in April and June, respectively. Students will be allowed to improve their performance in any 3 subjects out of science, mathematics, social science and languages. The decision taken by the CBSE is in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
