New Delhi, Dec 16 (PTI) Copper prices on Monday traded up by Rs 2.25 to Rs 442.25 per kg in futures trade on pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for December delivery traded higher by Rs 2.25, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 442.25 per kg in a business turnover of 5,887 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in January edged up by Rs 1.95, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 447 per kg in 793 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to raising of bets by participants, driven by a pick-up in demand in spot market.
