New Delhi [India], Feb 8 (ANI): Election Commission on Thursday proposed to institute annual lecture in memory of late Sukumar Sen, who was the first Chief Election Commissioner of India.Speaking at an event here, Chief election Commissioner Sunil Arora said: “It would be Commission's endeavour to involve a wide cross-section of civil society including political parties, media, constitutionalists, legal luminaries, academia etc. This lecture would be delivered by an eminent person from the democratic world, whose contribution for the spread and furtherance of democratic values and ideals is widely known and recognised.”Sukumar Sen was the first Chief Election Commissioner of India from 21.3.1950 to 19.12.1958.
