Entertainment News | Delhi's Leela Palace Hotel Ready to Host BRICS Summit Guests with Special Menus, Enhanced Security

New Delhi [India], September 10 (ANI): As the national capital prepares to welcome international leaders and delegates for the 18th edition of the BRICS Summit, The Leela Palace, New Delhi is stepping up preparations to host foreign guests and offer them a taste of Indian hospitality.

With security arrangements, reception protocols and specially curated menus being put in place, the luxury hotel is preparing to welcome delegates from five countries, according to General Manager Preeti Makhija.

Speaking to ANI, Makhija shared that efforts are underway to create a memorable experience for all those attending. 

“We are really looking forward to the upcoming BRICS Summit, and it is a great moment of pride for all of us to be able to host these countries and make them experience Indian hospitality through the lens of Leela,” Makhija said.

“Our team is excited for it, and the entire hotel is prepping for it. From security measures to the welcome at reception, special menus are also being planned for them,” she added.

For the hotel, food is expected to be a key part of the experience, with a special emphasis on Indian cuisine and indigenous ingredients. Makhija said the menus have been designed to showcase Indian culinary traditions while also taking into account the preferences and dietary requirements shared by the visiting delegations in advance.

“When the foreign delegates come, the focus and the highlight will be on the Indian menu. It is an opportunity for us to really showcase the Indian menu and our specialities,” she said.

The specially curated menus incorporate a range of Indian spices and traditional grains and ingredients, including barley, millet, jowar and sattu.

“Our menus have been curated with Indian spices, with special mention of barley, millet, jowar, and sattu. Also, we have received their preferences and requirements for the menu in advance. So, the menus have been prepared accordingly,” Makhija said.

While hospitality and cuisine remain central to the hotel's preparations, security is also being accorded high priority ahead of the high-profile gathering.

“Security measures are being taken care of with high intensity. The teams of the Delhi Police are working closely with our teams together,” Makhija said.

For The Leela Palace, the summit is also being viewed as an opportunity to present India's culinary diversity and the country's hospitality traditions to an international audience.

“It’s a great showcase for India, and we want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for offering us this opportunity to showcase Indian hospitality to the foreign delegates,” Makhija said.

The BRICS Summit 2026 is scheduled to be hosted by India in New Delhi from September 12-13. The summit will be guided by the official theme, "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability". (ANI)
