New Delhi/ Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Nov 10 (ANI): Fuel prices continued to witness a decline on Saturday in the national capital as well as financial capital of the country.

In New Delhi, petrol is being sold 17 paise lower than the previous rates at Rs 77.89 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 72.58 per litre after a 16 paise decline.

Petrol and diesel are being sold at Rs 83.40 per litre and Rs 76.05 per litre, respectively, in Mumbai, after a reduction of 17 paise each.

Fuel prices had earlier witnessed a relentless hike in the country, burning holes in commuters' pockets.

In this regard, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had, on October 4, announced a reduction of Rs 2.50 per litre on both petrol and diesel prices after curbing excise duty on the commodity by Rs 1.50 per litre. He had also urged state governments to slash the same amount at their end. (ANI)
