New Delhi, Apr 10 (PTI) Gur prices fell sharply by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following comfortable position of stocks on relentless supplies amid negligible offtake.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also remained weak and prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal on paucity of demand.
Marketmen said, ample position of ready stocks on constant supplies amid thin demand mainly led to the fall in gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices dropped by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,500-2,600 per quintal.
In Muradnagar, gur Pedi prices lost the most from Rs 2,250-2,400 to end the day at Rs 2,125-2,200, showing a decline up to Rs 200 per quintal.
Gur Dhayya prices also slipped by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,200-2,250 per quintal.
Coming to Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices slipped from Rs 2,075-2,150 to Rs 2,050-2,100 and Chakku moved down from Rs 2,250-2,450 to Rs 2,200-2,400 per quitnal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,500-2,600, dhayya Rs 2,700-2,800 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,000-2,100, chakku Rs 2,200-2,400, khurpa Rs 2,050-2,100 and Ladoo Rs 2,250- 2,350.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,125-2,200 and dhayya Rs 2,200-2,250.
