New Delhi [India], July 11 (ANI): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension in services of Govind Mohan as Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, beyond the date of his superannuation upto August 22, 2026.

Home Secretary Govind Mohan is a 1989 Batch Sikkim cadre IAS officer.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension in services of Shri Govind Mohan, IAS (SK:89) as Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs beyond the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.09.2025 upto 22.08.2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, in terms of the provisions of FR 56 (d) and Rule 16 (1A) of the All India Services (Death-Cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958," the official order read.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu also approved the appointment of Vivek Kumar Gupta, HAG/IRSE, presently working as Managing Director, National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited(MD/NHSRCL), as General Manager, Western Railway, until further orders, by curtailing his tenure as MD/NHSRCL. (ANI)
