Hyderabad, June 17 (PTI) A case has been registered against a man, claiming to be worker of Majlis Bachao Tehreek party and also a local channel, for allegedly promoting enmity between two communities, a senior police officical said today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) V Satyanarayana said that Asif Iqbal, who claimed to be an MBT worker,posted a video in WhatsApp through a local channel in which he was seen provoking different communities.

The DCP said a case has been registered against Asif as he was "promoting enmity between two communities which may cause breach to the safety and security" of Hyderabad city and also against the channel which was circulating the video.

Satyanarayana said stringent action would be taken against them as per law.

The ACP recalled that police had last week registered a case against Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh Lodh for allegedly posting an "inflammatory" video on the social networking site over 'Iftar' parties.

"As per guidelines of the Supreme Court, notices have been sent to Singh, his reply has been obtained and "we are going to file a charge sheet against him in a Court," he said. PTI
