Los Angeles [USA], Dec 6 (ANI): Fans of Narcos: Mexico have a reason to rejoice, as Netflix is all set to renew the series for a second season.
The renewed season, which essentially is a continuation of the original series, will include Eric Newman as showrunner and Jose Padilha, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard and Andres Baiz as executive producers, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The final moments of Narcos: Mexico saw a new central character getting introduced in the form of an American DEA agent who signals an escalation in tactics against the cartel. This unnamed character will be played by Scoot McNairy of 'Argo' fame in the renewed season as well.
The drug cartel drama had premiered on Netflix last month and saw the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the early 1980s, and the efforts of a DEA agent Kiki Camarena (played by Michael Pena) to bring it down. (ANI)
