Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 30 (ANI): Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered re-postmortem of bodies of seven people who died during the anti-Sterlite protest in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district last week.

The high court also ordered the preservation of six other bodies.

Earlier on May 25, the Tamil Nadu Government had submitted its report to the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection with the violence.

At least 13 people were killed and more than 60 injured in the police firing when the protest against the construction of a new smelter plant by Sterlite Copper turned violent on May 22.

The people in the city have been contending that the plant would further pollute the water and pose environmental hazards. (ANI)
