Washington DC, [USA] July 20 (ANI): Keeping up with their reputation for designing quirky cover pages, the latest cover of Time magazine featured morphed image of United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

This comes a few days after Trump and Putin held a one-day summit in Finland.

The picture has perfectly morphed Trump's blonde hair, feathery eyebrows and puckered lips as well as Putin's nose and blue eyes.

The photo illustration "is meant to represent this particular moment in US foreign policy, following the pair's recent meeting in Helsinki, Finland," CNN quoted Time as saying in a recently released statement.

The magazine took to Twitter to release a video image, which shows the faces of the two Presidents.

Time magazine captioned the tweet, saying, "TIME's new cover: Trump wanted a summit with Putin. He got way more than he bargained for."

On a related note, Trump on Wednesday took a complete U-turn on election meddling, and blamed Putin for Russia's alleged attempts in interfering in the 2016 US presidential election.

But earlier on Monday, the 72-year old President had endorsed Putin's stance on Russia's non-involvement in the 2016 US presidential election, insisting that he ran a clean campaign.

Addressing a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki after their summit, Trump had said that there was "zero collusion" and that he ran a "clean campaign."

The US President had also mentioned that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign was "a disaster for our country," while also saying that it had negatively impacted US-Russia relations.

Trump had received massive backlash over his comments during the conference with Putin, with former Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel also saying that Trump had "failed America today."

While former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper branded the news conference as "truly unbelievable," former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan called Trump's comments as "nothing short of treasonous." (ANI)
