New Delhi [India], Oct 17 (ANI): United Arab Emirates' Minister of State for Defence Affairs Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falacy met Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.

The ministers undertook a review of bilateral defence cooperation and deliberated upon measures to further enhance bilateral exchanges. An official statement outlined that they also recognised that "deeper bilateral defence cooperation has been emphasised by the leadership of both countries as a central element in expanded India and UAE Strategic Partnership".

A range of defence cooperation issues was discussed during the meeting, while both the ministers agreed on priority areas for cooperation. The areas recognised were military to military exchanges, training, military medicine, and defence industry tie-ups, according to an official press release.

The UAE Minister, who is on an official visit to India on Sitharaman's invitation, is due to visit Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) and Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. (ANI)
