New York [U.S.A.], Aug 30 (ANI): Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdasco on Wednesday (local time) ended former World No 1 Andy Murray's resurgent run at the ongoing US Open.
Verdasco defeated Murray 7-5, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, marking his first win over him since 2009.
Murray, 31, started off his campaign with a convincing 6-7, 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 win over James Duckworth of Australia in a one-sided clash.
Despite the strong attack, Murray couldn't manage to continue his form and lost in the second round at the Arthur Ashe Stadium here.
Murray now holds a 13-2 head to head record against world number thirty-two Verdasco. (ANI)
