Hero MotoCorp maintained its lead in India's two-wheeler market during June 2026, despite a 4% YoY decline in domestic sales to 502,306 units. While commuter motorcycle sales largely struggled, the company saw substantial growth in its electric Vida scooter range and premium models like the Xoom and Harley-Davidson X440.
Hero MotoCorp maintained its position as India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer in June 2026, despite experiencing a marginal year-on-year (YoY) decline in domestic sales. The company dispatched 502,306 units during the month, representing a 4% decrease compared to the 525,000 units sold in the same period last year.
As per a BikeAdvice report, month-on-month performance also saw a downturn, with sales falling by 6% from the 537,000 units recorded in May 2026. While the broader commuter segment faced significant challenges, specific product lines showed impressive growth, reflecting a shift in consumer demand towards electric and premium offerings. The Splendor remains the backbone of the company's portfolio, continuing its reign as the top-selling model. It recorded sales of 336,856 units in June 2026, achieving a positive YoY growth of 8%. Conversely, other commuter stalwarts faced setbacks, with the HF Deluxe seeing a substantial 56% decline, bringing its monthly volume to 44,292 units. The Super Splendor also experienced a 21% reduction, moving 16,168 units.
Electric And Premium Segment Growth Trends
While traditional commuter motorcycle sales struggled, the electric and premium segments provided a significant boost to the company's performance metrics. The Vida electric scooter range achieved an extraordinary 184% YoY growth, with 20,416 units sold. Similarly, the Xoom scooter range witnessed a surge, with dispatches increasing nearly six-fold, or 595%, year-on-year to reach 6,741 units. The company's diverse portfolio continues to show varying levels of demand, with the Hero Destini 125 reporting 22,010 units sold, a 9% increase, while the Harley-Davidson X440 model recorded a 69% growth with 1,197 units. Despite the overall domestic dip, the strong performance of electric and niche models underscores Hero MotoCorp's ongoing efforts to diversify its market presence beyond its traditional commuter stronghold.
