Kia India has officially released social media teasers hinting at the imminent arrival of two new electrified models in the Indian market. The promotional campaign features the acronyms BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), suggesting that the automaker is set to broaden its footprint in the alternative fuel segment. As per a report by Cardekho, these models are expected to debut in the latter half of July 2026, marking a strategic move to address the growing demand for sustainable mobility.

Kia Syros EV: Expanding the Electric Range

The upcoming Syros EV is expected to serve as the brand's most accessible electric vehicle in India, positioned below the existing Carens Clavis EV. Based on the standard internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Syros, the electric derivative is likely to retain its boxy, upright proportions while incorporating EV-specific design cues such as a revised front bumper, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a charging port integrated into the front-left fender. Tata Sierra, Tata Sierra EV Special Editions Launch in 2026; Check Expected Price, Specs.

Regarding performance, the vehicle is expected to draw inspiration from the Hyundai Inster EV’s battery technology. It may be offered with battery pack options similar to those found in the Creta Electric, potentially providing a range of up to 490 km. Inside, the cabin will likely feature a premium suite of technology, including a 30-inch panoramic display, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated rear seats, and a 360-degree camera system. The Syros EV is estimated to be priced between INR 15 lakh and INR 20 lakh.

Kia Sorento Hybrid: A New Flagship Contender

The second model teased is the Sorento Hybrid, a premium three-row SUV designed to fill the gap in Kia’s current Indian product line. Measuring approximately 4.8 metres in length, the Sorento is expected to compete with established heavyweights such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Toyota Fortuner.  Kia Sorento Hybrid, Kia Syros EV To Launch in India Soon; Check Details.

While Kia has yet to confirm exact specifications for the Indian market, industry expectations point towards a self-charging hybrid (HEV) powertrain, possibly utilizing a hybridized 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Globally, the Sorento is lauded for its spacious interior and high-end feature set, and the India-spec version is expected to follow suit with amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, a premium Bose sound system, and multi-zone climate control. The flagship SUV is projected to carry an introductory price tag of around INR 30 lakh.
