India’s leading UV maker - Mahindra on Thursday launched the much awaited XUV300 in India with a starting price of Rs 7.9 lakh (ex-showroom India). The sub-compact SUV is based on SsangYong’s X100 platform, which also underpins Ssangyong Tivoli. The newest offering from Mahindra has already bagged around 4000 bookings across the country. Mahindra XUV300 vs Maruti Vitara Brezza - Design: Mahindra XUV300 sports head-turning Cheetah-inspired design which is underlined by aggressive front grille with chiselled body, LED tail light, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, diamond cut alloy wheels, floating roofline, side cladding and more. Maruti gave much required update to Vitara Brezza by adding new alloy wheels, glossy black finish, muscular wheel arches, front chrome grille, rear door chrome garnishing, silver bash plate and spoiler.

The SUV is also equipped with 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, start stop button, rear parking cameras, cruise control and more. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is also loaded with several features such as electrically folding OVRMs, push start-stop, climate control system, 7-inch touchscreen multi-display screen, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child restraint system, high-speed warning alert, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters.

Mahindra XUV300 vs Maruti Vitara Brezza - Dimensions: Dimensionally, the new Mahindra XUV300 measure 3990mm in length, 1820mm in width and 1620mm in height and the wheelbase stands at 2620mm. The ground clearance of the SUV measures 180mm. Maruti Vitara Brezza is 3995mm long, 1640mm tall and 1790mm wide along with wheelbase and ground clearance of 2500mm and 198mm.

Mahindra XUV300 vs Maruti Vitara Brezza - Engine Specifications: Mahindra XUV300 is offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit that makes 110 bhp of max power with 200Nm of torque. The diesel unit is a 1.5-litre turbocharged oil burner capable of making 115 bhp and 300 Nm of power figures. Transmission functionalities are taken care by 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no AMT version available as of now. Maruti Vitara Brezza, on the other hand, the sub-compact gets 1.3-litre DDiS 200, 4-cylinder BS-IV compliant diesel engine that makes 89 bhp and 200 Nm of power figures. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and optional 5-speed automatic gearbox.

Mahindra XUV300 vs Maruti Vitara Brezza - Prices: Coming to the price point, the all-new Mahindra XUV300 is priced from Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom India) for the base variant W4 (petrol). The top-end variant costs Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). On the other hand, Maruti’s sub-compact SUV costs Rs 7.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant while the top-end model is priced at Rs 10.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
