Maruti Suzuki India, country's leading auto manufacturer has launched a new CNG variant of its popular selling Ertiga MPV. Priced at Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Ertiga CNG is available in a single VXi trim only. Additionally, the car maker has also launched the taxi-spec of Ertiga which is called as Ertiga Tour M that is priced at Rs 8.83 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Ertiga CNG is around Rs 71,000 costlier than the regular Ertiga VXi whereas Ertiga Tour M CNG costs approximately Rs 66,000 more. Both the MPVs are offered with 7-seat configuration wherein 10.86 kg factory-fitted CNG tank is positioned beneath the luggage bay floor. Mechanically, the new Ertiga CNG comes powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which gets dual ECU with intelligent-gas port injection system. The unit is capable of making 103 bhp of maximum power @ 6,000 rpm against the peak torque of 138Nm @ 4,400 rpm. However, the power figures on CNG dips to 91 bhp @ 6,000 rpm with 122 Nm of peak torque @ 4,400 rpm. Transmision duties are carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Feature-wise, both the MPVs are equipped with power steering, remote central locking, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, front and rear power windows, coloured MID, an audio system with AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted audio and call controls, four speakers, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminder, 12V power outlets at first and second rows and much more.
Moreover, the Ertiga Tour M comes equipped with speed limiter restricting the speed of the MPV to 80kmph. Additionally, the car maker will be introducing Ertiga-based XL6 six-seater car on August 21, which will be retailed via Maruti's premium dealership chain - NEXA.
