Maruti Suzuki, India's leading automobile manufacturer expanded its product portfolio by launching a brand new premium MPV in India. Christened as XL6 MPV, the car is offered in two trim levels - Zeta and Alpha. The XL6 is based on the new generation Ertiga MPV, however, the exterior design makes it look different from the latter. The company had previously started the bookings for the car with upfront payment of Rs 11,000. Being a premium offering from Maruti, the MPV will be retailed across Nexa dealerships throughout India. The newly launched Maruti XL6 comes in 6 exciting colours - Metallic Premium Silver, Metallic Magma Gray, Prime Auburn Red, Pearl Brave Khaki, Pearl Artic White and Nexa Blue.

On the inside, the newly launched XL6 MPV from Maruti gets all-black interiors along with premium accents. The overall design of the MPV is highlighted by black upholstery, 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system and more. Additionally, the MPV gets captain seats in the middle row. On the feature front, the Maruti's XL6 MPV features SmartPlay Studio, Cruise Control, Signature Quad LED headlamps, Smart Hybrid technology and Automatic Transmission. As the 6-seater MPV is based on Suzuki's new generation Heartect platform, it gets safety features such as dual front airbags, hill hold assist, reverse parking sensors, high speed alert and ABS, EBD and ESP. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios HatchBack Launched; Priced in India From Rs 4.99 Lakh.

On the mechanical front, the new Maruti XL6 gets BS6 compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine. The unit is capable of producing 105PS of maximum power against peak torque of 138Nm. The petrol mill also gets mild hybrid SHVS system. Transmission duties are carried out by 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 4-speed AT unit. The XL6 is claimed to return fuel efficiency of 19.01 kmpl and 17.99 kmpl for manual and automatic versions respectively.

As far as the competition is concerned, the Maruti XL6 competes against Renault Lodgy, Mahindra Marazzo and even Maruti Ertiga. On the pricing front, the new Maruti XL6 MPV is priced from Rs 9.79 lakh to Rs 11.46 lakh (ex-showroom).
