Tata Tiago JTP, Tigor JTP Performance Cars Launched in India; Prices Start From Rs 6.39 Lakh

Tata Motors, a homegrown automaker has officially launched the performance oriented versions of Tiago and Tigor cars in India. Priced at Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for Tiago and Tigor respectively, both the models are expected to produce 34 percent more power than their regular counterparts. The new Tiago JTP, Tigor JTP models are the first two products from the JV between Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives. Dubbed as most affordable performance cars in the country, JTP editions of Tiago and Tigor feature host of changes, both mechanical as well as cosmetic. Under the hood, Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP comes powered by 1.2-liter turbocharged petol unit. The engine is capable of making 114PS and 150Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. On the performance front, the company claims that Tiago JTP can hit 100 kmph in just 9.5 seconds whereas Tigor JTP takes 10.38 seconds to achieve three-figure mark. Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP performance vehicles get sporty bumpers front and rear, a larger air dam, contrast-coloured ORVM covers, sharper creases and the offset air intake on the bonnet that gives an appealing look. The car gets ‘JTP’ badges on the grille, side apron and the boot lid as well as 15-inch machine-finished alloy wheels. The rear section of the cars features a chrome-tipped twin exhaust.

On the inside, the cars get red accents around the AC vents that is highlighted by contrast stitching on the steering wheels, seats and gear knob. The sporty appeal inside the cabin is highlighted by shiny metal pedals.
