The Mahindra BE 6 also gained the Sporteq suffix, while several existing models received new trims. After a packed August, September is also set to bring several important launches and updates.
Kia Sorento
Launch: September 4
The Kia Sorento will become the brand's new flagship ICE model in India when it arrives on September 4. The three-row SUV will be offered with strong-hybrid and diesel powertrains, with Kia positioning it against models such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Jeep Meridian. Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift India Launch Planned for October 2026.
The India-spec Sorento gets Kia's signature Tiger Nose grille, vertical LED headlights with Y-shaped daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps and vertical aero vents. At the rear, it features squarish tail-lamps, a large roof spoiler and a two-tone bumper.
The SUV will be available in six- and seven-seat configurations. Inside, it gets a connected panel for the infotainment and instrument cluster, along with features including ADAS, ventilated front seats, a digital interior rear-view mirror, an electrically operated tailgate, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.
The Sorento's strong-hybrid powertrain is expected to produce 238hp and 380Nm, while the diesel version will produce 202hp and 441Nm. Kia has already opened bookings for the SUV ahead of its launch.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift
Launch: September 5
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift is scheduled to launch in India on September 5. The second-generation Baleno was introduced in 2022 and is now due for its first major update.
The facelift is expected to receive a redesigned front grille with a horizontal element connecting the headlights, along with a revised front bumper. New alloy wheels are also expected, while changes at the rear are likely to be limited to the bumper.
Inside, the Baleno is expected to retain the existing dashboard layout and 9-inch touchscreen, although Maruti Suzuki could introduce revised upholstery and additional features.
The powertrain range is expected to remain unchanged. The current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces around 90hp and is available with five-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. A CNG version producing 77.5hp is also expected to continue with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The updated Baleno will continue to compete with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza.
BMW 7 Series and i7 Facelifts
Launch: September 11
BMW will launch the facelifted 7 Series and i7 in India on September 11. The company opened bookings for both flagship sedans in August following their international debut.
The updated 7 Series and i7 receive revised styling, including new split LED headlights, slimmer kidney grilles with an illuminated surround and redesigned bumpers. The rear also gets updated LED tail-lamps, a revised tailgate and a new bumper design.
The 7 Series continues with petrol and diesel powertrains in international markets, while the i7 remains the fully electric alternative. The updated i7 gets a larger 112.4kWh battery, while the electric powertrain range includes the xDrive50 and M70 xDrive.
The cabin receives more substantial changes. BMW has redesigned the dashboard around a 17.9-inch central infotainment display, a 14.6-inch passenger screen and the company's Panoramic Vision display. Rear passengers continue to get a high level of comfort, with powered seats offering heating, ventilation, massage and lumbar adjustment.
The updated flagship models will continue to compete with luxury sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Skoda Slavia Facelift
Launch: September 18
The Skoda Slavia facelift is expected to arrive in India in September, with September 18 currently listed as the expected launch date by automotive portals. The update is expected to bring styling revisions and new features to the Czech brand's midsize sedan.
The facelift is expected to feature a redesigned front grille, revised lighting elements and updated bumpers. The cabin could also receive new equipment and interior updates.
The Slavia is expected to retain its existing petrol engine range, although transmission and feature changes may be introduced with the facelift. It will continue to rival the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
Skoda Superb 2026
Launch: September 18
Skoda could also introduce the new Superb in India during September. The model is currently listed with an expected September 18 launch date, although the company has not announced a firm India launch schedule.
The new-generation Superb features a more restrained exterior design and a significantly updated cabin. International versions are available with petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains depending on the market.
If introduced in India, the Superb would return to Skoda's premium sedan range and sit above the Slavia.
BMW i5 LWB
Launch: September 21
BMW is also expected to expand its India electric portfolio with the i5 LWB. The long-wheelbase electric sedan is currently listed for a September launch, with September 21 reported as the expected date.
The i5 LWB is designed specifically with rear-seat comfort in mind, offering additional cabin space compared with the standard-wheelbase model. It is expected to target buyers looking for a premium electric sedan with a chauffeur-friendly rear cabin.
The model will strengthen BMW's electric line-up in India alongside the i7 and other EV offerings.
Porsche Cayenne Electric
Debut: September 30
The Porsche Cayenne Electric is set to make its official India debut on September 30. Porsche had already announced pricing for the electric SUV, but the September event will mark its official showcase in the country.
The Cayenne Electric is offered with a 113kWh battery and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive. The standard version produces up to 408hp and 835Nm, while the Turbo Electric develops up to 1,156hp.
The electric SUV can accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds in the standard version, while the Turbo Electric can complete the sprint in 2.5 seconds. Porsche claims a range of up to 642km for the Cayenne Electric.
The SUV retains the familiar Cayenne silhouette but gets a closed-off front grille, redesigned bumpers and a full-width rear LED light bar. Inside, it features a digital driver's display and a 14.5-inch curved infotainment screen, with an optional passenger display.
