Volkswagen, the German auto maker will be launching the updated derivatives of Polo and Vento in India by next month. The new Polo and Vento facelifts are scheduled to go official on September 4, 2019. The popular models from Volkswagen are expected to sport minor cosmetic updates along with some minor feature upgrades. Also, the facelifted versions of both the car were spotted testing on the Indian roads. Though there's some time for new generation Polo and Vento to hit the Indian market, the car maker is looking to keep the cars fresh with minor changes. The next-generation Polo will be based on company's MQB A0 platform, which will also form base for the all-new Vento. Going by the previous spy shots, it is believed that the facelifted avatars of Polo and Vento will carry updated front profile with subtle changes on the grille, which will take inspiration from GTI versions. Also the front and rear bumpers will also be tweaked to give fresh looks to Vento and Polo. It is important to note that the silhouette of both the cars are expected to remain unchanged. On the safety front, the updated Polo and Vento facelifts are expected to get dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, front seatbelt reminders, speed alert system as standard fitment. The interiors of the new Polo and Vento are also expected to feature slight changes.

As far as the engine specifications are concerned, the new Polo hatchback will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol mill could be a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated mill whereas the diesel engine is likely to be a 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. Moreover, we could also be seeing a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the GT TSI version. On the other hand, the VW Vento will also be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine could be a 1.6-litre unit while the oil burner will be a 1.5-litre engine.

As a part of company's strategy, it is believed that the new Polo and Vento cars could be launched by 2021. And, we can expect some official announcements during the upcoming Auto Expo, which is scheduled for the next year.
